Construction was started this week on a new 38 story timeshare tower next to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort, on the spot where the low-rise Waikikian Hotel and the Tahitian Lanai Restaurant once stood. The new timeshare tower will be called the "Grand Waikikian" and it is being built by Hilton Grand Vacations, the timeshare division of the Hilton Hotels Corporation. The new building will include more then 300 one, two, and three bedroom timeshare units and four floors of retail and office space. Other Hawaii timeshare units owned by Hilton include the Lagoon Tower and the Kalia Tower at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and Hilton Grand Vacations Club at the Waikoloa Beach Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii.
