Commercity Activity May Be Banned at Kailua Beach
The Kailua Neighborhood Board has recommended to the City and County of Honolulu that all commercial activity be banned at Kailua Beach Park on the windward side of Oahu. If city officials approve the ban, the only exempt commercial enterprises would be filming (with permits) and the beach snack bar. Use of kayaks, sailboards, and other equipment rented off-site would not be prohibited, but they would no longer be rented at Kailua Beach Park. If the ban is approved, prohibited activities would include, but not be limited to, rental of kayaks, sailboards, surfboards, teaching lessons, and delivery of rented equipment.
