Beginners are Welcome at Kauai Canoe Race
The Tahiti Fete Outrigger Canoe Race on the island of Kauai is a fundraiser for the Hanalei Canoe Club. The 21st annual event will take place on July 1, 2006 and all levels of canoe paddlers are welcome to participate. The event will be a 1/4 mile, 6-person canoe regatta and it will take place at the Hanalei Pier on the north coast of Kauai. The event organizers will provide canoes, paddles, and steersmen for the event and there will be categories for beginners, masters over age 40, and an open category for all other experienced canoe paddlers. What a great way for Hawaii visitors experience Hawaii local-style and contribute to a good cause at the same time.
