The premier of the PBS film "First Battle: The Battle for Equality in War-Time Hawaii" will take place at the Hawaii Theatre in Honolulu on Tuesday, September 5, 2006. The film is a one-hour PBS documentary about the little-known battle waged by Japanese-Americans in Hawaii in the early years of World War II. It is the story of a group of individuals who struggled with the U.S. government to prevent mass internment of Hawaii's Japanese-Americans and secure their right to bear arms while fighting for the United States.
