A tropical storm developing south of Hawaii has been upgraded to a hurricane, and named Hurricane Ioke. Winds are expected to reach 115 miles per hour, but meterologists do not expect it to affect the weather in Hawaii, because it should pass approximately 800 miles south of Honolulu. The hurricane is expected to affect Johnston Island, which lies about 700 miles southwest of Honolulu. For updates and more information, visit the Web site of the Central Pacific Hurricane Center.
