The official name of Fort DeRussy Park is Fort DeRussy Armed Forces Recreation Center, and it is located on the west end of Waikiki Beach, between the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort and the Outrigger Waikiki Shore Hotel. When the fort was built in 1904 it was known as the Kalia Military Reservation. Its name was changed to Fort DeRussy in 1909. The fort was closed in 1949 but one of the original bunkers is now the home of the Hawaii Army Museum. The military-only Hale Koa Hotel is also located within the park. The above Outrigger Resorts photo of Fort DeRussy Park was taken from one of the rooms at the Luana Condominium Hotel.
