This new biography of award winning Hawaiian singer and musician Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoole is entitled IZ: Voice of the People, and it was written by Rick Carroll with contributions from IZ's wife, Marlene Kamakawiwoole. The book is filled with photographs of IZ and it explores all sides - good and bad - of this beloved Hawaiian artist, who died in 1997 at age 38. Most of you have probably heard IZ sing, even if you don't realize it. His beautiful version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World" has been featured in television commercials all over the world.
