The Lyon Aboretum in Honolulu's Manoa Valley recently resumed offering guided tours after being shut down in August of 2004 because of safety concerns due to deteriorated buildings and pathways. The aboretum underwent a $3 million restoration and it opened to the public again in January of 2005. Free guided tours are now offered from 10:00 to 11:30 Monday through Friday for a maximum of 12 persons. Weekend tours are expected to resume in the Fall of 2006.
