Hawaii state park official are planning to re-route the several of the trails in Kauai's Kokee State Park to make the trailheads closer to paved roads, so hikers can avoid driving and parking on rough, muddy dirt roads. As part of the project, three new gravel parking areas will be created and existing parking areas will be expanded. For more information, see the July 12th Honolulu Advertiser Article.
