Smoking is banned in all restaurants, most indoor public places, and some outdoor public places in Hawaii, but smoking is still permitted in bars and nightclubs. A no-smoking ban that would include bars and nightclubs is supported by most of the people who live in Hawaii, but bar and nightclub owners are concerned that a full ban would negatively affect their businesses, especially since a large number of visitors from Asian countries smoke.
