First Go! Aircraft Has Arrived in Hawaii
The first aircraft in the Go! Airlines fleet flew from Phoenix, Arizona to the Honolulu Airport last week, and more planes will be arriving soon. Go! will begin providing inter-island transportation on June 9, 2006 with 32 flights a day between Honolulu, Kona, and Kahului, Maui. When service to Hilo is added on June 30, the number of flights per day will increase to 62. Go! Airlines sparked a fare war when they offered inter-island fares beginning at $39 one-way and $59 round-trip. As soon as those fares were announced, Hawaiian and Aloha Airlines immediately matched them.
