The island of Lanai is located about 9 miles south of Molokai and 9 miles southwest of Maui and it is approximately 18 miles long and 13 miles wide. Lanai has almost 50 miles of coastline, but very few paved roads. At one time Lanai was known as the "pineapple isle" but since very little pineapple is grown there now, it is known these days as the "secluded isle". Lanai has two very expensive luxury resorts, one on the coast and one in the hills, and one less expensive - but charming - hotel in Lanai City. [Lanai Photo Gallery]
