Hawaii's unemployment rate of 2.8 percent is the lowest in the United States. Hawaii is the only state with an unemployment rate lower then 3%. The next lowest rates are South Dakota, Virginia, and Utah, all with 3.2 percent. The national unemployment rate in the United States is 4.7 percent.
