Heavy rains caused flooding and traffic jams on Oahu and the Big Island this week, but the rain is expected to taper off this weekend. Earlier in the week there were flash flood warnings on the Big Island and several areas got more then 5 inches of rain in a 24 hour period. The heavy rains and snow on Mount Mauna Kea were caused by a low pressure system south of the Hawaiian Islands.[Star Bulletin Article]
