Kahala Hotel Rejects Mandarin Name
The owners of the Kahala Mandarin Hotel on the south shore of Oahu are ending their association with the Mandarin Oriental hotel group effective March 1, 2006. As of that date the hotel will simply be called the Kahala Hotel. The hotel first opened in 1964 as the Kahala Hilton and the Mandarin Oriental hotel group took over its management in 1993.
