This weekend the Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts will present Lifetime Achievement Na Hoku Hanohano Awards to five major contributors to Hawaii's music scene. Recipients of the awards are saxaphonist Gabe Baltazar, singer Loyal Gardner who died in 2001, jazz pianist Rene Paulo, the Surfers, and showroom entertainers the Society of Seven. The awards will be given out Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at a luncheon at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. Tickets are $70 to $100 with corporate tables available for $1000. Aloha attire is recommended.
